Pandemonium at PDP headquarters in Abuja

Pandemonium unfolded at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headquarters, Wadata Plaza, in Abuja on Wednesday when alleged thugs stormed the Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting, creating a scene of confusion and disorder.

The meeting, led by the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Ambassador Umar Damagum, was attended by several prominent party figures, including National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Senator Ben Obi, BoT Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara, Board Secretary Senator Ahmed Makarfi, former Niger State Governor Babangida Aliyu, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and former Youth Leader Sunday Ude-Okoye.

Tensions escalated at the start of the meeting when Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye, both contenders for the position of PDP National Secretary, had a confrontation. Ude-Okoye, who arrived at the venue ahead of Anyanwu and Acting Chairman Damagum, was reportedly escorted out after Anyanwu’s arrival, heightening the discord.
