President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, on Monday commissioned multiple projects executed by the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo as part of the governor’s one year anniversary.
The President, who was represented by the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, arrived the state in the company of APC national Chairman, Dr Umar Ganduje and Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, around 12.000 noon through Dangote Airstrip, Obajana to a rousing welcome.
They were gladly received by Gov. Ododo, his deputy, Joel Oyibo, former governors Yahaya Bello and Idris Wada, Commissioners and other government officials.
Ododo led the vice president and his delegation to the Area around Lokoja Local Government Area, where three road projects were commissioned to the admiration of the crowd.
The projects first commissioned in the state are Zone 8-Zango Daji- Kaduna Junction road (9Km), Zone 8 — Crusher Road (5.5Km).
Other projects include 350-bed hostels for both boys and girls at Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), a Demonstration farm, two faculties in the same university and some Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across the state.
Addressing the President’s delegation, Gov Ododo said the projects executed demonstrated his desire to improve the well-being of the people of Kogi State.
Ododo said that the projects scattered across the three senatorial districts of the state were part of campaign promises to the people who elected him into office to serve them as their chief servants.
He thanked his predecessor for laying a solid foundation upon which he could consolidate the growth and development of the state.
Immediately after commissioning the projects, the Vice president and his entourage were moved to Government House, where they had a private chat with stakeholders in the state before moving to Muhammadu Buhari Square for the proper anniversary celebration.
