Former Lagos Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, breaks silence on his removal, says “As a General, when you go to war, you may come back or not come back. I am not disturbed, perturbed or worried.

The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has arrived at his lodge in Ikeja GRA, Lagos where his supporters have been awaiting his arrival. Recall that supporters of Obasa gathered at the Speaker’s Lodge at GRA Ikeja, gyrating and awaiting his arrival. The supporters had gathered since 8am on Saturday awaiting Obasa whom they planned a “heroic welcome” for. Obasa was recently removed by majority of lawmakers at the House following allegations of misconduct and financial misappropriations. He was subsequently replaced by Mojisola Meranda who was a former deputy speaker.

The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has faulted his removal by lawmakers. Obasa, who spoke on his removal for the first time on Saturday, said it was important for the lawmakers to follow the constitutional procedure to remove him as speaker. The former speaker also denied the allegations of corruption brought against him by the lawmakers during his removal, describing the alleged financial misappropriations as “impossible.”
