The Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMET) has issued alerts concerning heat stress impacting numerous states across the country.
The agency’s statement indicates that rising temperatures and high humidity levels may lead to thermal (heat) discomfort in various states.
The most affected areas include the North-Central and other states, which are; Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Kogi, Nasarawa, Benue, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Cross River, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Other vulnerable regions include the Southwest and coastal areas, along with Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara, and Sokoto.
As a precaution, Nigerians are advised to stay cool, wear lightweight and breathable clothing, and ensure they remain hydrated.
