Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has restated his determination to start collection of toll gates at The Epe-Mojoda-Ijebu-Ode Expressway.
The governor in a press release made available to National Press Newspaper, signed by Dapo Oduwole,Director General, Office of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Ogun State stated that:
Ogun State government in line with its commitment to the continous improvement of road infrastructure, wishes to inform the general public, motorists, and road user that tolling operations will commence on the Epe-Majoda-Ijebu-Ode Expressway effective from Monday March 24, 2025
The introduction of toll,ing on this strategic corridor is part of the framework for sustainable road maintenance, ensuring efficient operation, enhanced road safety, and improved travel experience for all road users. A significant part of the revenue generated from tolling will be used for the continous maintenance, management and upgtade of the expressway.
Toll Plazas and payment modalities
Toll collection will be implemented at designated toll plazas sgtrategically located at Mojola and Ijebu-Ode along the expressway. Road users will be required to pay a toll fees based on their vehicle sclassification. Payment can be made through the following methods:
- Cash payment at toll boots
- Electronic payment via E-tag and Smart contactless Card (Touch and Go)
Exemptions and Special Considerations
The folloing categories of vehicles are exempted from the toll payments.
- Emergency response vehicles (ambulances, fire service, and police patrol vehicles on active duty.
- Government owned security and law enforcement vehicles
- Ogun State Government officials vehicles as designated.
- Any other caegories as may be determined bythe Ogun State Government
All road users are expected to complyt with traffic management and tolling regulations enforcement measures will be implemented and non-compliances may attract penalties.
