Ongoing repairs on the Independence Bridge, Victoria, Lagos.
Traffic will be closed for one month on the Odeku-CMS side of the bridge, with the repair work expected to last for one month.
The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, directed the immediate reopening of the bridge following the massive traffic gridlock that affected the Ikoyi area of Lagos.
Recall that the federal government had earlier announced plans to close the Independence Bridge (Marina-bound) in Lagos State for essential maintenance and rehabilitation. It stated that the bridge would remain closed until the end of May 2025.
