Heineken, a flagship premium brew, recently clinched the coveted ‘Brand of the Year’ award at this year’s Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) Awards for Marketing Excellence (West Africa).
At an impressive ceremony that took place in Lagos recently, the product’s Brand Manager, Obabiyi Fagade, also emerged the ‘Brand Manager of the year’ for what the judges saw as successfully managing the brand’s campaigns and positioning it as the beer of choice in the last one year.
For the much coveted prize, Heineken beat Dufil Prima’s Indomie and Hayat Kimya’s Molfix to second and third positions, respectively. Also at the event, Heineken emerged winner in the ‘Campaign of the Year’ category, beating Airtel Smart Speedo and Unilever Ghana’s Pepsodent to second and third places, respectively.
Reacting to the development in a chat with newsmen, Emmanuel Agu, who is the Portfolio Manager, Mainstream Lager and Stout Brands, Nigerian Breweries Plc, was so much elated to see the brand win other categories of awards. Reacting, Agu said, “We locked down the key awards tonight; Social Media and Digital, Campaign of the Year, Brand of the Year and Brand Manager of the Year”.
Meanwhile, Molfix’s and Dufil’s Power Oil and Indomie, respectively, emerged big winners in other categories.
