The Federal Capital Terriutory Police command has banned car tinted glass in the Nigeria capital territory. Tinted glass, a colour nylon used to cover the identity of anybody in the car, is banned in FCT and any car owner using it will be arrested as a criminal. According to ACP Addeh, Abuja Police Public Relation Officer, this came effect immediately to tame th ‘one chance robbery’ common in Abuja.
In a press release signed by John Adeh, FCT Public Relation Officer, made available to The National Press Newspaper yesterday said:
“This is to notify residents that FCT Police Command in enforcing the ban on tinted vehicles, exempts those with factory-fitted tints or those with valid medical exemptions”.
Addeh added that: “These measures were implemented to address the increasing incidents of ‘one chance’ robbery and other criminal activities in the FCT. Though these measures may cause some inconvenience, they demonstrate our commitment to ensuring the safety of all FCT residents,” the stated concluded.
